About social media management tools.

Good, so you decided to set up your own company. Maybe online, maybe offline, the question remains: Are you going to involve in Social Media?

Over the time I met many of my customers who would like to be active in social media, but think it takes a lot of time. Frankly, it can take a lot of time. That is if you are not using a social media management tool, which can save you time in the following ways.

1 You don’t have to post on every social media network separately

2 Posts can be planned beforehand

3 Scheduling makes it easier to keep up with your goals

4 Reactions to posts and mentions can be managed in a dashboard

5 Only having to log in to one dashboard for all social activity

6 Start contests from templates

Let’s elaborate on these six items a bit more, starting with postings. With a social media management tool you can devise posts for all of your social networks at once. For this blog we will use Hootsuite as an example. Composing posts and posting them becomes easier, instead of copying, pasting and inevitably making mistakes you will now be running a more clean act.

Planning beforehand and scheduling. There is a host of advantages with this, scheduling your posts means that you can plan things ahead, for example the holidays or you can just spend a couple of hours each month to plan your social media for this month. Just imagine December, you want to celibrate Christmas and New-Years eve without having to post something at that specific time you can just schedule a Happy New Year post.

Think of keeping up with goals as for example you have a product that will be discounted in November, you can plan to make some buzz beforehand so that you are sure your customers know your product will be in discount over the month of November. With scheduling you can do this on set times, so that you can reach your target audience when they are online.

very action will (hopefully) give a reaction, but instead of having to dive into your facebook or twitter account you can manage them all within Hootsuite and react from there, creating tabs allows you to keep tabs on what happens and making sure you are on top of things. Off course it takes some more work, but this is also why it is called social media. It is easy to interact with your fans or potential customers in this way without feeling scattered all over the place, this will save you loads of time as well.

You only have to log on to one dashboard, most of my customers had a very negative view of social media as they did not want to spend hours and hours chasing Twitter, Facebook, Xing, Linkedin, Pinterest and all the others every day all days. Hootsuite and other social media management tools make it easier for you to get overview, what are you posting where, at what time, who reacts where.

Starting contests from templates. With templates you can easily start a contest or prize questionnaire from scratch even when you are not experienced in social media or do not have a lot of time to manage it, the paid version of Hootsuite gives you this option. Even when you are a small one man start up you can have the social media experience and options for your crowd that bigger companies have.
